House of Hazards: The Online Multiplayer Game That Turns Home Life into Chaos
House of Hazards is a local multiplayer game where the setting is a house and the hazards are everything in it. One player tries to complete ordinary tasks — make coffee, water the plants, grab the mail. Everyone else tries to stop them by triggering the objects around the house at exactly the wrong moment. A toaster fires toast. A ceiling light drops. A tap misfires. The round ends when someone completes their task or gets knocked out of contention entirely.
Developed by New Eich Games — the studio behind Rooftop Snipers and Getaway Shootout — it was released in September 2020 and last updated in January 2025. The same chaotic two-button design philosophy runs through all three games. Simple to start, hard to stop playing.
How It Plays
Each round assigns one player to task completion and gives the others control of the household hazards. The task list changes between rounds — sometimes it’s watering flowers, sometimes it’s making breakfast, sometimes it’s something else entirely. The hazards change with the environment too, which means strategies that worked in one room don’t necessarily transfer to the next.
The chest mechanic is the most disruptive element. If another player grabs your character and locks them in a chest, you’re out of the round without a hazard ever needing to fire. It’s slower than a direct hit but removes any chance of a comeback. Most heated rematches start because of a well-timed chest lock.
Between rounds, a wheel of fortune spins and applies a rule change to the next round — reversed controls, extra hazards, speed changes. The wheel keeps sessions from settling into a fixed pattern. Round four plays differently from round one almost every time.

Tips
Learn the hazard timing in each room before the task player does. The automatic hazards fire on a predictable cycle — knowing when a ceiling light drops gives you a window to either avoid it or use it against the task player at the right moment.
If you’re on task duty, move unpredictably. Hazard players read straight-line movement within two or three rounds. Changing direction mid-path makes timing a hit significantly harder for whoever is controlling the obstacles.
Save the chest for when the task player is close to finishing. Using it early gives them time to recover. Using it in the final seconds of a task removes any chance of a last-second completion.
